To get somewhere it is often helpful to have a road map rather than wander aimlessly through the streets. Lets see what is required of us to graduate and start breaking it down year by year. Create a 3 columned Course Selector for the next 3 years of your educational path.

Instructions

1. Open MS Word

2. File / New

3. File / Page Setup / Landscape

4. Table / Insert Table / 3 columns and 3 rows.

5.First Row - Insert / Picture / WordArt - enter Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12

6. Choose the courses you think you will take in the next 3 years. Follow the Grad Program 2004 requirements and use the Howe Sound Course Selector to choose your courses. Place the Required (Blue Font)and Elective (Red Font) courses in the appropriate columns and Bold and Cap the 5 provincial exam courses.

7. At the bottom of each column add up the credits for the required and elective courses.

8. Remember that somewhere in the 3 years, one of your required courses must be a Fine Arts course or Applied Skill. Hi-light this course with a red font, but also label it in brackets as a fine art or applied skill. .

9. Make sure you have the minimum # of Grade 12 courses.

10. Check the example to see what is appropriate for a quality assignment although it is obvious that the answers are incorrect.
